What's New at Local 4 Apprenticeship & Training

State Apprentice Contest

The Local #4 Indiana/Kentucky Apprentice Contest was held May 15^th at the Indiana State Fair Grounds, Farm Bureau Building. There were 33 participants for the brick contest and the pointer, cleaner, caulker contest. I would like to thank all of the instructors, the 12 week apprentice class, and job corp for their time and help in putting the contest together. To all the participants a job well done!

The Pointer, Cleaner, Caulker Regional Contest will be held on June 20^th in Addison, Illinois.

THE STATE APPRENTICE CONTEST THIS YEAR WILL BE MAY 14 AND MAY 15 AT THE INDIANA STATE FAIR GROUNDS. THE CONTEST WILL BE EARLIER THIS YEAR DUE TO THE NATIONAL IU CONTEST THAT WILL HAVE THE FINALS THIS FALL. OURS WILL BE A QUALIFYING EVENT FOR THE NATIONAL CONTEST. MORE SPECIFIC INFORMATION WILL BE POSTED AT A LATER DATE.

THE DATE OF THE REGIONAL BRICKLAYERS CONTEST WILL BE JUNE 13.

Hands on at Allen County Fairgrounds

Ken Reiter and Jim Crum hosted a hands on demonstration area with over 400 high school students at the Allen County Fairgrounds recently. This picture and article appeared in the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette. Top Notch of NE Indiana coordinated the career day.
