Spencer-Batts Scholarship Award

In memory of departed International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Vice President, George Spencer, and James Batts, the founder of Batts Construction, the International Masonry Institute offers a student grant to a son or daughter of an IUBAC member (or legal guardian) or a signatory contractor in good standing.

Sustainable Masonry Certification Program Thursday June 10, 2010

The IMI Sustainable Masonry Certification Program (SMCP) was developed to offer masonry contractors the competitive edge necessary to successfully participate in the ever growing green movement found in today’s design and construction industry.   The program focuses on the impact of masonry as a sustainable building system.  

 
The certification program is for all signatory masonry contractors and their employees. The program will address all masonry crafts.

Supervisor Certification Program (SCP) 1 & 2

Supervisor Certification Program (SCP) 1 and 2

 The Supervisor Certification Program is designed to provide a comprehensive outreach program of higher instruction and education to current or potential supervisory personnel of mason contractors signatory to the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC).     

The primary goal of the SCP is to develop highly skilled, confident, effective supervisors of all masonry trades.  Through a variety of learning mediums and experiences, individuals will develop new ideas, skills and techniques to meet the requirements and responsibilities of today's supervisory positions in the masonry industry.

Level One includes the Role of the Foreman, Productivity and Basic Supervision (16 Hours)
Level Two includes Personnel Management, Mentoring, Project Documents, Communication, On-site Operations, and Site Control. (16 Hours)
