Providers not With United Health Care

Apr 16, 2009 (14:55:26)

ATTENTION- To all participants of the Bricklayers of Indiana Health and Welfare Plan: If you currently have a medical provider (doctor, hospital, clinic, etc.) that is out of network for UHC, please get us their names so that UHC can contact them and possibly get them to join the UHC network. The more info we can actually get will make it easier for them to cotact the providers- name, address, phone- type of specialty (for example OB-GYN, Oncology, Cardiology, etc.). But whatever information you can give us we will work with. E-mail or call your field rep. as soon as possible so that we can get this list to United Health Care. E-Mail to:

Substance Abuse Testing

Jan 16, 2009 (06:29:29)
IUCSAT Program Expands Testing Panel

IUCSAT updated their policy late last year and one major change in the program that has great impact on members who are tested for this program is the expansion of the testing panel to 10 drugs. This means that many of the prescription drugs that are commonly taken could make you positive on your drug test. If your test does come back positive you will receive a phone call from the MRO (Medical Review Officer) serviced and will be asked to provide written verification of possessing a prescription that has been issued in your name. If you are unable to produce a recent prescription that was issued to you personally your test will be deemed positive and you will then have to complete an evaluation with a SAP (Substance Abuse Professional) and complete a rehabilitation program to become compliant with the testing program. It is imperative that you DO NOT take anyone else’s prescription or you risk having a positive test. White it is illegal to take another person’s prescription, we know it happens. This information is being provided to make sure that you are aware of the risk you take if you use a prescription not issued to you, this means anyone’s prescription including someone in your family. If you have any questions, call IUCSAT for more information. The number to call is on your drug card.
