Work is going well for the most part. We still have 12 bricklayers off in the chapter, but I look to have them to work in the near future. Empire is starting to hire at the new North HS and ARC will put a few on at the Down town Arena. B&P has the Meseum & TellCity HS rapping up and will be slow until work starts late this summer at the VA Clinic. Veeck has Lodge and Newburgh Water Treatment plant rapping up and have nothing on the books after that. Bunge has a few small jobs going and await the start of the Mead Johnson Project this fall. Mackey has no work at this time. Kremp Lumber does not have any work in this chapter but will need several at the Princeton HS job. Plibrico has a job in Hawsville, KY that will start around the 26th off this month. Tile & Terrazzo has been very busy for both Memmer & Wink, but it will be slowing for the rest of the summer once the Deaconess job is complete. I would like to know if our members are intrested in attending the Labor Day Parade and having a cook out at the Warrick Co. fair grounds at the end. If interested please call 305-2140. Family is encouraged to attend, so lets have our best turnout this year and show our pride in being Union Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers.

Spring is finally here and the work I have been telling everyone about is slowly getting started. Empire has started at New H.S., but they have caught up with Weddle Bros. and are at their mercy until Weddle can get more footings pored. Empire is also winding down at Highland & Lincoln Elm Schools. Arc has the new Arena but it will be a few months before it starts, they are working at Glenwood and are around 75% complete there, and Cedar Hall is complete. B&P Has a decent job at Deconess hospital and then it looks slow for them. Veecke has work at Newburgh Water treatment plant & Lodge Elm. School at 75% completion and it looks to be slow for them. NM Bunge is rapping up at Mead Johnson; they have a few small jobs ahead but it looks slow for them also. Sellers Masonry has the work at the Evansville Housing Authority and part of the Arena that work is just getting started. Mackey Has no work at this time. I did want to mention that Klenk Co. has the Masonry work at the Mc Curdy building and will need a foreman and 2-3 bricklayers when that work starts. Whaley has the USI tower still going but look to complete this fall. Dodds Has a small job at Castle H.S. and may need a bricklayer or two as that work starts. Kremp does not have any work in our chapter, but they have landed two big jobs in Gibson Co. at Princeton H.S. & Vinceness University.
Tile Terrazzo is going very well Memmer Has the work at Highland, Lodge, & Cedar Hall now started, and it is looking good for the New H.S. as I have been fighting with the School Board Attorney to get that job pulled from CDI, for fraud and licensing issues. Wink has work at Lincoln Elm. School, Mead Johnson, Deconess Gateway and the new Arena. Lockwood has several small jobs coming up and they will be looking for a couple of setters and finisher in the near future. Sellers Tile & Stone Is shut down for non-payment of benefits and any member found working for will have charges filled against them! We know have a judgment against Sellers Tile & Stone so if you know of any work they have done please contact me as we will go after those monies until our members are paid in full for benefits!
In closing I want to remind everyone to vote this year is very important to keep our friends in the State House to combat all the anti labor legislation our Governor keeps throwing at us RE: Referendums & Right to Work (for less).
Fraternally yours,
Raleigh Johnson

Thank you,
I would like everyone to be aware that when your son or daughter turns 18 while still in high school you should contact the school and have them send a letter to United Health Care informing them that your child is a full time student.
